This week, Media Make-up degree students met with artists from Bridgwater & Taunton College and University Centre Somerset.
As they gathered in the make-up studios, students from various acts shared a bit about who they were and their projects ideas. The make-up artists then fed back their own throughts, helped develop ideas, and shared previous projects to see what might work for them.
While some artists, like Matte Diamond, got excited about colourful and exciting photo shoots, others have slightly larger projects in mind. Housewives, a band from Bridgwater & Taunton College, are embarking on a music video to be released with their first single.
The video will be based around YouTube sensation 'Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared', a cartoonish and surreal mini-series. Working with Media Make-up students, the concept has started to come to life, with plans for one band member to be transformed into a stereotypical housewife, and another potentially becoming a lamp.
These conversations were only the beginning of collaborative projects with students across UCS and BTC creative departments. We can't wait to see them all come to life!
