The annual UCS Freshers Fair saw around 300 students from Taunton, Bridgwater and Cannington come together and celebrate the start of another year!
The UCS Freshers Fair 2024 was an absolute success, with around 300 students joining us from all three campuses, we really have started this year out right!
Over 20 voluntary organisations supported the event and helped to welcome this years cohort to the university. We had stalls supplying key information and support, sports and societies, student discounts and freebies.
The fair was packed with local businesses including Eat the Bird, All Stars Bowling and Bars, Samaritans, National Trust, Taunton Brewhouse, Secret World, Somerset Road Safety, Young Somerset, NHS Somerset, SARSAS, SDAS, Headway, Good News for Everyone, and many more.
Support and information for career paths, finance, mental health and wellbeing, and other services were there to provide information and answer any queries students might have had. Team BTC provided information about sports including our UCS netball team, our library team and student union engaged with these students for the first time, and we also had our Student Engagement Team handing out free ice creams and the HE Team selling UCS hoodies!
