I'm starting my midwifery degree with the University of Plymouth in September. I've worked at Musgrove Park Hospital for 13 years now in admin and wanted to work towards my dream job in midwifery. The access course enabled me to do this after I didn't manage to finish my college course back in 2012, due to personal reasons. I'm so grateful I was able to do all of this online, from the comfort of my own home, whilst on maternity leave with my third baby boy. I found the course materials to be great and marking time was fairly quick. With hard work and determination I managed to complete the course in six months, instead of the 12 months I was given. Overall, I'm really pleased I had this opportunity and am now able to finally have the grades I need to embark on my dream career.
The Access to HE Diploma is a nationally recognised diploma and provides students with the necessary grounding to progress on to Higher Education courses. The majority of UK universities will accept an Access to HE Diploma as an alternative to A Levels and other more traditional routes.
