The Construction provision at University Centre Somerset is housed in our newly refurbished Industry Skills Centre at Taunton campus. Led by experienced Construction & Civil Engineering specialists, our lecturing team is dedicated to supporting your progression through your HNC and HND journey.
We have made significant investments in IT equipment and BIM software packages, including Revit, AutoCad, and Trimble Business Centre, giving you access to these tools both on campus and remotely. Our surveying equipment has also been upgraded to include the latest Trimble Total Station and a complete GNSS surveying package. During your course, you will have the opportunity to explore the cutting-edge technology of Drone Surveying.
To enhance your practical learning experience, our new Materials Lab is equipped with comprehensive testing equipment. This allows you to gain hands-on experience and deepen your understanding of subjects such as Hydraulic Principles, Geology, Soil Mechanics, and Science & Materials.
